Áfram Ísland holds referendum meeting in Hvolsvöllur

Áfram Ísland is holding a public meeting at the Hvolnum community hall in Hvolsvöllur on Tuesday, mbl.is reports. The meeting begins at 5 p.m.

The discussion will cover the referendum on August 29, Iceland’s future and why, according to the meeting’s organisers, Iceland’s interests are best served outside the European Union.

The speakers are farmer Sverrir Guðmundur Guðmundsson of Núpur, farmer Hanna Valdís Guðjónsdóttir of Sólvellir and former minister Björn Bjarnason.

Anton Kári Halldórsson, mayor of Rangárþing eystra municipality, will chair the meeting.
