Fuel chains raise petrol and diesel prices again

Several fuel chains are raising petrol and diesel prices on Tuesday, SVT reports, following a sharp rise in oil prices on Monday.

Petrol is increasing by 50 öre per litre and diesel by 85 öre. The changes are based on companies’ listed prices, which are normally followed by equivalent increases for private motorists.

The new price for private customers is around 15 kronor per litre for petrol and 19.50 kronor for diesel.

Brent crude was trading at just over 87 dollars per barrel on Tuesday, up from 83 dollars at the end of last week. Oil prices influence the prices at the pump.

Before the war in the Middle East began on 28 February, petrol cost around 15 kronor per litre and diesel around 17 kronor. Current prices are also affected by temporary tax cuts introduced on 1 May and 1 July.
