Two men remanded over death in Kópavogur

Two men were remanded in custody on Monday in connection with an investigation into a death in Kópavogur, mbl.is reports. Reykjanes District Court granted a request from the Capital Area Police on investigative grounds.

One man was remanded until 21 August and the other until 17 August. One is Icelandic and the other is a foreign national.

Police said they received a report of an assault in a private home in Kópavogur around midday on Sunday. The victim, a foreign national in his forties, was taken to Landspítali hospital, where he died later that afternoon. Police said they could not provide further information at this stage.
