Police arrest three after Holbæk shooting as motive remains unclear

Police have arrested three people after a shooting in the Agervang housing development in Holbæk, with investigators still trying to establish the motive, DR reports.

Two suspects were arrested on Sunday after fleeing the scene in a white car. The third was arrested at an address in Holbæk on Monday morning, Midt- and West Zealand Police told DR News.

A 23-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder, while a 22-year-old man is charged with aiding attempted murder. The third suspect, aged 35, is believed to have played a lesser role in the shooting.

All three are expected to appear at a preliminary custody hearing later on Monday.

Police believe the shooting stemmed from an internal dispute in the criminal milieu, but have not yet determined what caused the disagreement.

Three people were hit by gunfire during the incident. Two remain in hospital but are not in life-threatening condition.

“What happened is still serious, and they were hit in the body,” said Lars Krogsgaard, deputy police inspector with Midt- and West Zealand Police.

Police have previously said that the three people who were shot also have connections to the criminal milieu.

Because the shooting took place in broad daylight in a residential area covered by surveillance cameras, police are collecting extensive video material and witness accounts. Krogsgaard said investigators were in a strong position and had several advantages in the investigation.

Although officers have already spoken to several witnesses, police are still asking anyone who saw or heard anything to come forward.

Community police officers will be visibly present in the Grønneparken housing development in Holbæk in the coming period. They will patrol the area on foot and by bicycle, police said.
