Police arrest man after serious assault in Kópavogur

A man was taken to an accident and emergency department after a serious assault at a private home in Kópavogur on Sunday afternoon, mbl.is reports. One man has been arrested, and the investigation remains at an early stage.
Police received the report at around 3pm. One man was taken to hospital and another was arrested, according to police.
A large police and medical response attended the scene, with two ambulances dispatched. E. Agnes Eide Kristínardóttir, chief superintendent of the investigation division of the Capital Region Police, told mbl.is that officers were still working to establish what happened.
Details remain unclear
It is not yet known whether more people were involved in the assault.
Police also said it was too early to determine whether the incident was connected to a criminal underworld dispute. Investigators currently have limited information, and the circumstances remain largely unclear.
