Seven assaults reported in city police district

Seven assaults were reported to police in Police Station 1’s district overnight, mbl.is reported, citing the police log covering operations from 5pm on Saturday to 5am on Sunday.

The district covers the eastern and western parts of the city, the city centre and Seltjarnarnes. The police log did not specify the nature of the assaults or the injuries suffered by those involved.

Police also received a report of a residential burglary. One person was arrested and held in a detention cell until they could be questioned.

Officers were additionally alerted to a group of young people in the city centre. One person was reportedly carrying a knife, although the log did not say whether this was confirmed.
