Pride parade to take place today

The Pride parade, described by many as the highlight of Queer Days, will take place today, mbl.is reports.
The parade begins at 2pm at Hallgrímskirkja and will continue along Sólavörðustígur, Bankastræti, Lækjargata and Fríkirkjuvegur. It will finish at the junction of Fríkirkjuvegur and Skothúsvegur, with performances continuing along Sóleyjargata and into Hljómskálagarður park.
An outdoor Queer Days festival will begin in Hljómskálagarður at 3pm, after the parade. A range of entertainers will perform on stage.
Following the festival, Samtökin 78 will host a barbecue for young people at its premises at Suðurgata 3, serving grilled hot dogs. Queer Days will conclude with a closing event tonight.
