Icelandic fire doors must be sent abroad for testing

Icelandic door manufacturers and sellers are unhappy with new requirements for confirming the fire resistance of fire doors, mbl.is reports.

Under the previous system, fire resistance could be calculated without testing. New European rules require every type of fire door to undergo testing.

Iceland has no facilities for this kind of research, meaning the doors must be sent abroad for testing.
