Chief physician rejects alcohol dementia label

There is no such thing as alcohol dementia in the healthcare system, Tormóður Stórá, chief physician at the Psychiatric Department of Landssjúkrahúsið, the national hospital, told KVF.
He said people described as having alcohol dementia had been treated differently when they were placed in a separate group without receiving treatment on an equal footing with other dementia patients.
