Police have arrested one person after several waste containers were set on fire in Tingbjerg, a neighbourhood in Copenhagen, for the second consecutive night, DR reported.

Two young people were detained and a third person was arrested, Copenhagen Police duty officer Nicolai Ullits said. The arrested person is suspected of setting fire to the containers. Police did not disclose the person’s age.

Several patrols have been in the area since shortly before 1 a.m., when the first reports came in. Fireworks were also fired in the area, Ullits said.

Fires were reported at two addresses, but police did not have a precise number for how many containers had been damaged. The fires were under control.

Several people set fire to waste containers, vehicles and a building in Tingbjerg on the previous night. Police described those incidents as serious pranks linked to their presence in the area.

On Saturday, police shot a 22-year-old male driver during a pursuit in Tingbjerg. He was hospitalised and in stable condition. On Sunday, he was remanded in custody for an initial 18 days after a preliminary court hearing at Copenhagen City Court, which he was unable to attend because of his injuries.
