Two young people killed in crash in Kaarina

Two local young people, aged 18 and 15, were killed in a crash on Makarlantie in Piikkiö, Kaarina, on Friday morning, Yle reports.

Police said the car apparently hit the pillars of a bridge carrying Turku’s ring road at high speed. Both victims died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.

No one else was in the car. Police said they were not aware of any witnesses, and that a passing motorist alerted the emergency services at about 6.30am.
