Advokat Arvid Sjødin, representing the man accused of murdering 30-year-old Maren Sømme on Jæren, will report those spreading false claims about the victim’s injuries, Dagbladet reports.

Sømme was found severely injured at a Jæren address on Sunday and later declared dead at the hospital. Her 34-year-old boyfriend, who denies guilt, has been charged with her murder.

Police confirmed on Wednesday that social media claims about the woman’s injuries were incorrect, yet Sjødin says the rumors persist, particularly in far-right online forums.

“I am taking screenshots of everyone posting these claims, and I will print them out and file a report,” Sjødin told Dagbladet.

The accused, previously convicted of violence against former partners, was remanded in custody for four weeks with restrictions on mail, visits, and media contact. He has appealed the detention order to Gulating Court of Appeal.

His lawyer states the man claims Sømme fell down stairs and injured herself a week before her death, later deteriorating for unknown reasons.
