Man arrested on electric scooter in undersea tunnel

A man was arrested early Thursday while riding an electric scooter in the Eysturoyartunnel undersea tunnel, Faroese public broadcaster KVF reports.

The man had entered from Streymoy and was halfway through the tunnel when police stopped him. Electric scooters are prohibited on public roads in the Faroe Islands, and the device was confiscated.

He was also charged for entering the tunnel on foot, which is not permitted.
