Temperatures to reach heatwave levels in Finland today
Temperatures in southern and western Finland will climb to heatwave levels on Thursday, according to Yle meteorologist Elias Paakkanen.
Warm air flowing from the southwest will push temperatures upward, with scattered thunderstorms possible in western Finland by afternoon and evening. In western Lapland, thunderstorms are likely.
On Friday, temperatures may approach 30°C in places as the warm air mass spreads over eastern Finland. Thunderstorms are possible nationwide, with strong wind gusts expected where downpours occur.
