Heavy rain warning issued for eastern Norrland
Sweden’s meteorological agency SMHI has issued a yellow warning for torrential rain and thunderstorms across large parts of eastern Norrland, according to a report by public broadcaster SVT.
The alert covers Thursday afternoon and evening, with rainfall of 30–60 millimetres expected in some areas. Roads and viaducts may flood, and the agency advises drivers to avoid waterlogged sections.
The warning applies to parts of eastern Norrland, stretching from southern Västerbotten to central Norrbotten.
