Severe thunderstorms move into Finland, Kainuu and Lapland hardest hit

Severe thunderstorms are forming over central and northern Finland, with the highest risk of storms and gusts in the north, according to Yle meteorologist Elias Paakkanen.

The storms will intensify in the afternoon and spread further by evening, with Kainuu and Lapland expected to bear the brunt of the severe weather.
