Police search for missing 21-year-old Helgi Ingimar Þórðarson in Vestmannaeyjar

The police in Vestmannaeyjar are searching for 21-year-old Helgi Ingimar Þórðarson, who was last seen in Herjólfsdal during the night. Standing at 192 cm tall, Helgi was reportedly dressed in black pants, a black hoodie, and a dark green jacket at the time he was last seen.

Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding Helgi’s whereabouts to contact the police at 112. Police Chief Karl Gauti Hjaltason stated that search efforts have been ongoing throughout the morning, with search teams conducting three sweeps of the area. There is hope that Helgi may still be in the vicinity; however, if no updates about his location emerge soon, further search and rescue operations will be organized.
