SMHI, sweden, wildfire

The Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) warns of a high to very high risk of wildfires across a large area of central Sweden on Monday.

The affected region stretches roughly between Gävle, Gothenburg, and Oskarshamn, where dry conditions mean fires could spread easily through forests and ground cover despite temperatures hovering around 20°C.

The elevated risk is expected to persist at least until 23:00 local time. Residents in the area are advised to check for any local fire bans.
