Woman seriously injured in Nærbø, man arrested

A woman has been hospitalised with serious injuries following an incident in Nærbø on Jæren, according to a report from Dagbladet. Police confirmed she was conscious when transported for treatment.

A man found at the address was arrested and taken into custody, operations leader Hele Rygg Ims of the Sør-Vest police district stated in a police log. Authorities received the first report of the incident at 15:28.

The residence has been cordoned off pending a forensic examination. Police are investigating multiple hypotheses and have not yet determined whether the woman was the victim of a criminal act.

Incident commander Gunn Beate Stendal told Jærbladet that the arrested man and the injured woman have a prior relationship.
