Shooting incident investigated in Simonkallio, Vantaa
On Saturday evening, a shooting incident occurred in Simonkallio, Vantaa. The lead investigator from the Eastern Uusimaa Police Department, Crime Commissioner Juha Springare, stated that the shooting took place in a public outdoor area. According to Springare, there were no injuries resulting from the incident.
“At this stage of the preliminary investigation, it appears that there was no real danger to bystanders,” he noted. Police received the alert around 6 PM. Simonkallio is part of the Simonkylä district in eastern Vantaa. Springare mentioned that the police investigation is still in its early stages and did not comment on the motives for the shooting. Additionally, the police have not disclosed whether any suspects have been arrested.
Helsingin Sanomat reported that a witness claimed to have seen a motorcyclist firing towards a car; however, the police have not confirmed this information.
