Unexplained incidents reported at Skorovas village shop

A local grocery store in Skorovas, Norway, has become known for reports of unexplained events, including items falling from shelves with no apparent cause, according to Dagbladet.

Hilde Staldvik, manager of Skorovas Samvirkelag, said the store posted videos of the incidents on its Facebook page, not expecting the attention they received. She described cases where packages, including foil-wrapped items, appeared to move or fall on their own.

“It was only when goods started falling off the shelves when no one was in the shop that we began to wonder,” Staldvik said, adding that the phenomenon has become a lighthearted part of daily life in the village.

Skorovas, once a thriving mining community with 600–700 residents, now has around 20 inhabitants. Staldvik speculated that the village’s history might play a role in the stories, suggesting that some “souls” may still linger.

Kristian Gundersen, a professor of physiology at the University of Oslo, told Dagbladet that no physical manifestation of ghosts has ever been documented. He noted that such stories often arise from a desire to believe in the unexplained, adding that similar claims—whether about trolls, clairvoyants, or other phenomena—have never been verified.
