A motorcyclist was airlifted to Ullevål Hospital in Oslo with critical injuries following a collision between a car and a motorcycle in Larvik on Friday evening, Dagbladet reports.
The incident occurred at 23:39 in Kanalgata, near the Color Line terminal. Emergency services initially requested an air ambulance, but due to capacity constraints, a rescue helicopter was dispatched instead.
The rider received initial treatment at the scene before being flown to the hospital, according to operations manager Ottar Steinstø. Police confirmed the injuries were critical.
Forensic investigators were called to examine the scene, and the road was expected to remain closed for much of the night.
