Traditional wool spinning and carding have resumed in Klaksvík’s historic Spinnaríið building, KVF reports.
“We want to highlight this part of our cultural heritage for both Faroese and visitors,” said Irdi Jacobsen, a board member of the Spinnaríið interest group.
Regular visitors now gather to practice traditional Faroese wool crafts at the site, while others come to learn how the wool is processed. “We have spinning wheels, carders, and reels here. We’ve set up a place where people can learn these crafts,” said Guðrun Elttør, chair of the group.
