Overnight frost surprises Ylivieska as southern Finland warms

Southern Finland will see temperatures of 18–20°C on Friday, while the north remains cool and unsettled, according to Yle.

Northern regions will experience unstable weather with temperatures between 10–15°C, alongside scattered showers. Central and eastern Finland will have intermittent rain but also dry spells.

Overnight temperatures dropped unexpectedly, with Ylivieska airport recording a low of -0.1°C. Meteorologist Aleksi Lohtander noted that some northern stations reported frost, unusually cold for the season.

Saturday will bring scattered rain to western and northern areas, while the east stays drier and warmer, with moderate southerly winds and possible sunshine.
