Ironman 70.3 Elsinore sells out in under seven hours

Start numbers for the Ironman 70.3 Elsinore triathlon in Helsingør next year sold out in less than seven hours, the organiser said on Thursday.

The race, scheduled for 27 June 2027, requires athletes to swim 1.9 km, cycle 90 km and run 21.1 km. IRONMAN Denmark said roughly 3,000 competitors have registered.

“We could see how quickly Ironman Copenhagen sold out in 46 hours last year,” said Jacob Nørgaard, country manager for IRONMAN Denmark. “We knew there was a trend driven by Denmark’s fitness boom, but we did not expect our half-Ironman in Helsingør to move this fast.”

The rapid sell-out mirrors demand seen at other major sporting events in Denmark. Organisers of the 2027 Copenhagen Marathon said 81,000 people applied for 35,000 available places.
