Poliisi investigates stabbing attempt in Helsinki’s Pasila district

Helsinki police are investigating an attempted murder after a man was stabbed in the city’s Pasila district on Thursday morning.

The suspect, a man, has been taken into custody, according to a statement from the Helsinki Police Department’s command center. The victim’s injuries are preliminarily assessed as serious, prompting authorities to classify the incident as an attempted murder.

Police received an emergency call just before 9 a.m. and responded to Palkkatila Street in western Pasila. Multiple patrol units were dispatched to the scene.

The injured man was taken to a hospital for treatment. Authorities have not yet disclosed whether the stabbing occurred indoors or outdoors.
