Felling trees to improve nature

Denmark’s Nature Agency has begun felling non-native spruce trees in Kongelunden, a forest on the island of Amager near Copenhagen, to allow more natural woodland to develop.

The work aims to create space for native tree species, shrubs, insects and fungi to return and thrive.
