Four people with family ties were seriously injured after a boat experienced steering problems in Bamble, emergency services confirmed on Wednesday evening.
A rescue operation was launched shortly before 20:00 after police received a report of a vessel with control issues. A fireboat located the boat, and operations leader Ottar Steinstø initially stated that both the vessel and its occupants were under control. Later updates indicated that the four individuals on board had been seriously injured.
They were transported by ambulance to Oslo, with poisoning from exhaust or gasoline fumes suspected as the likely cause. The boat was subsequently brought ashore.
