Oplevelsescenter Nyvang in Holbæk has seen a threefold increase in visitors since opening a life-size replica of the fictional Badehotellet from TV 2’s popular Danish series of the same name.

The center, which operates the replica, reports that daily attendance has tripled compared with the same period last year when the hotel was not open. The replica includes period-accurate décor, sets and props from the series.

“On days when we’re open normally and the Badehotellet is also accessible, we’ve had three times as many guests as in the same period last year,” said Frits Thorarinsson, director of Oplevelsescenter Nyvang.

Visitors have traveled from as far as Norway, Sweden and Finland, drawn by the show’s Nordic popularity, according to Kirsten Holst Christiansen, a volunteer at the center. “Some of the new guests we’re seeing are coming from those countries specifically for the Badehotellet, but they also discover that Oplevelsescenter Nyvang offers much more,” she said.

Danish viewers have also made longer trips to see the replica. Sanne Petersen from Rødekro in southern Jutland drove more than 200 kilometers to tour the interior, take photographs and share the experience with family.

Entry to the Badehotellet replica now requires advance booking, with each visit limited to 30 minutes.
