Woman hospitalised with serious head injuries after assault in Oslo

A woman in her 60s was hospitalised with serious head injuries after a violent assault in Oslo on Tuesday morning, police said.

Dagbladet reported that officers responded to multiple emergency calls from witnesses at an address in the Nydalen district. The suspect, a man in his 30s, was restrained by bystanders before police arrived. He has since been arrested and taken into custody.

An on-scene commander said investigators were conducting a forensic examination and interviewing witnesses. The victim remains hospitalised in a critical condition.
