Serious environmental accident in Pedersöre as heating oil seeps into soil

Hundreds of litres of heating oil have leaked from a residential storage tank into the ground in Pedersöre, western Finland, emergency services said on Sunday.

The Finnish rescue service reported that the spill has so far remained in the soil and has not reached ditches or waterways. Rescue workers are on site conducting oil-containment operations.
