Tour bus carrying passengers veers off road near Kittilä in Finland

A tour bus carrying 50 passengers veered off the road and into a ditch on a gravel road near Kittilä’s Pokka on Saturday morning. According to the Lapland Rescue Service, the bus, which tilted dangerously, was at risk of tipping over. Heavy equipment was used to stabilize the vehicle, allowing rescuers to assist 49 passengers out of the bus afterward. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries from the incident.

Passengers had to wait inside the tilted bus for several hours before they could evacuate. The accident occurred on a remote highway between Kittilä and Inari, where the landscape is characterized by marshy terrain. The rescue team noted that the bus had German license plates.

The cause of the accident remains unclear, and the police are currently investigating the matter.
