One in five men in Finland reports experiencing sexual harassment in the past two years, according to the latest gender equality barometer published by the Finnish government.
The survey, released last year, found that 22 percent of men in Finland said they had been subjected to sexual harassment between 2024 and 2026. The issue remains less discussed than the harassment of women, despite its prevalence.
Social media influencer and sex therapist Joonas Pesonen has highlighted the topic on his Instagram account and in his podcast, drawing attention to the experiences of men who face sexual harassment.
Readers who have experienced sexual harassment at festivals or elsewhere are invited to share their stories. The newsroom is preparing a feature on the topic.
