Viral videos are drawing attention to unusually long and wide trousers sold by Zara, which users say pose a tripping risk. The garments, dubbed “Zara’s deadly trousers” online, have been linked to injuries after wearers became entangled in the excess fabric.

Lecturer in design and sustainability at the Royal Danish Academy Else Skjold said the issue reflects a broader trend of clothing designed for trends rather than practical use. “When garments prioritise style over functionality, safety and usability suffer,” she said.
