Garbage bin set ablaze in downtown Reykjavik, arson suspect arrested

A garbage bin was set on fire in downtown Reykjavik last night. According to police reports, it is fortunate that the fire did not spread to nearby buildings, as it came very close to doing so. One individual was arrested at the scene on suspicion of arson and spent the night in a police cell.

Additionally, two reports of theft were received from the Hlíðar neighborhood in Reykjavik. The same suspect is believed to be linked to both incidents and was subsequently arrested.
