A convoy of 18 Ferraris from the Roman Ferrari Club Passione Rossa drove from Helsinki to Rovaniemi on Thursday, arriving in the city’s Pajakylä district to meet Santa Claus, Yle reports.

The 12-hour journey included three stops. Leading the group was Italian drift driver Fabio Barone, the club’s president, who holds seven Guinness speed records.

Barone praised Finland’s roads and driving culture, calling them far superior to Italy’s. “The roads are in excellent condition, and the landscapes are stunning,” he said. He also noted Finnish drivers as disciplined, contrasting them with the “crazy” traffic in Italy.

During the club’s previous Finland trip, nine drivers received fines for speeding, with one recorded at 147 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

Barone’s borrowed Ferrari Purosangue consumed about 300 litres of fuel for the trip, averaging 36 litres per 100 km. He argued that the emissions were minimal compared to other transport modes, though calculations show the single trip produced emissions equivalent to roughly 130 train journeys on the same route.

The Ferraris will be on display in Rovaniemi’s Pajakylä on Friday from 13:00 to 17:00, and in Seinäjoki’s Ideapark on Saturday.
