Broken glass found on playground in Aurskog-Høland
A two-year-old girl was injured after encountering crushed glass on a playground near Bjørkelangen station in Aurskog-Høland, Akershus, Dagbladet reports.
Dan Klementsen told the newspaper his daughter, Alma Lopez, came to him crying with blood on her hand. He later discovered large amounts of broken glass in the lower handholds of a climbing frame where she had been playing.
“It’s awful to think someone would do this. It looked like it was done deliberately,” Klementsen said.
The girl sustained a cut to her hand, which was cleaned and treated. Klementsen also contacted emergency services but did not require further medical attention.
He had previously removed a board with nails from the same playground but said that did not appear intentional. This time, he believes the glass was placed deliberately where children play.
Klementsen posted a warning in a local Facebook group and contacted the newspaper Indre Akershus Blad to alert other parents.
Acting mayor Per-Steinar Slang told Indre Akershus Blad the municipality would address the issue. “This is very unfortunate. We don’t want people to get hurt,” he said, adding that he would notify municipal technical services to clean the area.
