A technical fault in a Finnair aircraft’s cargo hold prevented the loading of all passenger luggage for seven days, the airline told Yle on Thursday.

The issue affected one plane from July 9 to July 15, disrupting baggage handling across multiple routes. Finnair communications manager Satu Haataja said roughly 1,000 suitcases were left behind in total, though most have since been delivered to passengers.

Deliveries to customers took one to three days, Haataja added. The disruption was first reported by Ilta-Sanomat.
