Two men stole tools worth €60,000 in Rauma, one escaped custody but was recaptured
Police in Rauma are investigating two men suspected of stealing tools worth approximately €60,000 from a sheet metal workshop in late June, Yle reports.
The pair broke into the business, took the tools, and also stole a company van from the premises. Authorities traced the suspects after receiving public tips, first locating their vehicle and then recovering some of the stolen tools from a private residence in Rauma. The men are also suspected of concealing stolen property.
Both were arrested in early July, with one admitting to the theft. That same man later escaped during a police search of his home but was recaptured the following day. He now faces charges for aggravated theft and prison escape. Though later released from pretrial detention, the second suspect remains in custody on suspicion of aggravated theft.
