New principal appointed at Løgmannabreyt school

Turid Vang Frederiksen will take over as principal of Skúlanum við Løgmannabreyt on 1 September, the Faroese Broadcasting Corporation (KVF) reports.

Frederiksen, who has served as a teacher at the school, was selected from 15 applicants. The previous recruitment round drew nine candidates, but the Education Ministry re-advertised the position.

Høgni Joensen, the school’s principal since its founding in 2008, has resigned. The school will have 366 students and 33 full-time teaching positions in the coming academic year.
