Festivalgoers in the Faroe Islands who cannot attend an event may not legally resell their tickets for profit, according to a century-old law cited by public broadcaster KVF.

A 1920 statute, “Forbud mod Videresalg af Billetter til offentlige Forlystelser,” explicitly bans the resale of admission tickets at a price higher than their face value.

KVF sought clarification from consumer ombudsman Rannvá Sólheim, who confirmed the restriction remains in force.
