The Danish judicial system is set to remain in place if the Union Party’s proposal for a new relationship with Denmark becomes a reality.

Yesterday, the Union Party held a press conference titled “New Union,” during which they proposed that the Faroe Islands should have expanded frameworks in foreign affairs.

The party references the article “Union 2.0,” co-authored by Kristian Joensen, an educator at the University of the Faroe Islands, and Bárður Larsen, a law program director at the same institution, which was published in April.

However, the article also suggests that the legal system and courts should be Faroese. This is where the Union Party diverges, as they do not agree with that suggestion.
