Faroese distillery launches first whisky

The first whisky produced by Faer Isles Distillery will hit the market this autumn, the company’s managing director Dánial Hoydal told Faroese public broadcaster KVF.

Hoydal said the whisky’s release will open doors for the distillery to sell other products it manufactures. The company, founded in 2018, has already sold various goods in the Faroe Islands and abroad, but whisky has generated the most interest.

Last year, the distillery selected barrels for its inaugural whisky batch.
