Elderly man drowns in Rauma

A 73-year-old man has drowned in Rauma after suddenly sinking while swimming, reports Yle.

The man was rescued and brought back to the shore of Narvijärvi’s Korpelanranta but was pronounced dead at the scene.

Southwest Finland Police confirmed the incident and stated no foul play is suspected. The Satakunta Rescue Department received the emergency call shortly before 5:30 pm on Saturday.
