A Faroese court has delivered a final acquittal in a money laundering case, with prosecutors declining to appeal the ruling.
The court found that prosecutors had failed to meet the burden of proof, resulting in the acquittal of a woman accused of money laundering.
The woman was detained at Vágar Airport in June 2024 while en route to Denmark, carrying 107,000 Danish kroner, 47,000 Faroese kroner, and 8,000 euros. Police alleged the money was directly derived from illegal activity. The woman denied the charges.
