The Faroese window and door manufacturer Grant has entered liquidation, halting operations after more than half a century of production in Vatnsoyrar, according to a report by Kringvarp Føroya.

The company, known for its windows and doors, has struggled financially for years, and a newly appointed board decided against further investment. In April, P/F Varðin acquired full ownership of Grant, but the turnaround attempt failed.

Fourteen employees will lose their jobs, including managing director Rúni Vang Poulsen. The liquidation ends a historic industrial operation that began in 1968 and later expanded through mergers.

Per Jacobsen, the board chairman of both Grant and P/F Varðin, confirmed the decision, stating the company had not been profitable for several years.
