Faroe Islands
Three small fishing companies—Gráastein, Ango, and 07.05.2026—plan to merge their quotas and operate under a single entity, the Faroese Competition Authority has been informed.
The firms, all holding rights to fish for deep-sea species, believe consolidation will improve efficiency. Following the merger, the new company will own and operate the deep-sea trawler Birita.
Any objections to the merger must be submitted to the Competition Authority by 22 July.
07.05.2026 was established after the fishing company Kinnfelli was dissolved.
