Faroese court procedure law to be updated

The Faroese government has proposed updating the islands’ court procedure law to align with changes made in Denmark between 1 January 2023 and 30 June 2025, according to a report by Faroese public broadcaster KVF.
The proposal, which includes 57 amendments, is now open for consultation until 19 August. If adopted, the changes would take effect on 1 June 2027.
The court procedure law is one of the most extensive in the Faroe Islands, containing over 1,100 articles.
