A Finnish berry producer has recalled a batch of fresh berries sold in the Helsinki region due to reported taste and smell defects, the company announced.
Suonenjoki-based Pakkasmarja said the withdrawal affects strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries delivered to HOK-Elanto’s Prisma supermarkets on July 4. The company described the recall as a precautionary measure after detecting potential issues linked to incorrect transport or storage conditions.
Consumers are advised not to eat the affected batches, which can be identified by lot numbers listed in the company’s notice. Pakkasmarja has asked customers to retain the product and contact its consumer service for compensation while it investigates the cause of the quality defect.
Berries purchased from other suppliers are not affected, the company stated.
