This weekend, the best weather in Iceland is expected on the West Coast. In contrast, the southern part of the country is projected to experience strong winds tomorrow, which could create hazardous driving conditions for vehicles subjected to powerful gusts.

A deep low-pressure system is located to the south of Iceland, bringing easterly and north-easterly winds along with rain to the eastern regions. Rain is also expected in other areas this afternoon and evening, with temperatures ranging from 8 to 16 degrees Celsius, the warmest being in the West.

Later in the evening, rainfall will begin to lessen, but winds will pick up significantly overnight, particularly in the southern parts of the country.

On Saturday, strong easterly winds are anticipated in the region, including the Westman Islands, posing risks for vehicles with high wind exposure. This weather may also affect those camping in the area. However, conditions are expected to calm down after midday, while other parts of the country may see sporadic rain but generally dry and mild weather in the West and rural North.

On Sunday, a north-easterly and easterly wind ranging from 5 to 13 meters per second, along with rain in the southeastern part, is forecasted. Other regions may also face rain.

Looking ahead to Monday, gloomy weather is expected nationwide with strong north-easterly winds and rain. Those who are dependent on favorable weather conditions are advised to keep a close watch on forecasts.
